Questions of June 1998 ?
What is the Utica connection & the Infamous Wild Woman named "Maime Casey"
who came to visit us in Rochester in the 30's from Utica..& play piano & sing songs...and tell a story of her trip to the Grand Canyon in Arizona
etc.in the mid thirties..........?
Is she related to the Wholahans or Dunns ?
We even went to visit them in their home in Utica...in the late 30's

As of September 2, 1998 I think the answer is that Mame's mother , Sarah McCue, lived in New Hartford in the 1870's as a Family with the Wholahans,( Michael, Sarah, Mary Ann, William & Joseph ) when her mother remarried 1n 1872? to Michael Wholahan. Mame Casey's grandmother McCue was a step-mother to my grandfather Thomas.

Death takes "Mame Casey"
Sauquoit NY:..............Mrs. Mary Casey Simmons, 68, of 42 Oneida Street died May 19, 1959, in Faxton Hospital after a brief illness. "Mame Casey," as she was known in musical and amateur theatrical circles for many years, was born in Utica March 29, 1891, daughter of Matthew & Sarah McCue Casey. She was a graduate of Utica Catholic Academy and on June 14, 1915, was married to Arthur Simmons in St. Agnes Church. Mr. Simmons died in February, 1954
