The 1860 Rochester Census lists Patrick as 16 years old = born in 1844 or 1845
with the occupation of “Tobacco Cutter”
Patrick was a Vetran of the Civil War:
Union Army, 14th New York State Artillery
Some confusion on this fact, as Ray Tierney Sr. does not mention this in his notes. ?
In Ray Tierney's notes " The Road Not Taken" written 1974 Ray said "James Maloney & his two sons Martin & James were in the Civil War"........
But the Rochester Directory shows him as Enlisted in Army 1866-67 City Directory book.

The following appeared in the Monday, August 21, 1893 edition of The Democrat & Chronicle
"MALONEY- In this city, August 18th, 1893, Patrick Maloney, aged 50 years.
_Funeral this Monday morning @ 8:30 o'clock, from St. Mary's Hospital and @ 9 o'clock from St. Patrick's Cathedral."
There was also a Patrick Maloney who died April 10, 1912 @ age 65.....our Patrick would have been 69....?
There was a Patrick Maloney listed in 1890 Records of Surviving Soldiers in Rochester:
"Mary Widow of Patrick Maloney Private Co. K, 2nd NY Regiment, Enlisted 12 Jan. 1864
discharged 20 March, 1865"
