VERA CAMERON DIED IN FALL DOWN STAIRWAY:
"Mrs. Vera Evelyn Cameron, 66, widow of Hugh Cameron, a well-known local druggist, died as the result of a fall sustained at the rear of her third-floor apartment at 66 Pine Street, around 6 p.m. Monday, June 29. Cause of death was not immediately known.
Mrs. Cameron had just returned home from the Brockville General Hospital, monday afternoon and had been climbing the outside stairs when she fell. Earlier she had taken time off her work in the hospital's Wagon Shop to have minor surgery performed on an eyelid.
She was born at Milby Pond, Ouebec, Janurary 7, 1904, a daughter of the late Frederick H. Walsh and his wife the former Jessie Harvey. While a young girl, she moved with her family to Cornwall for a brief period. But for the most part she had lived in Brockville, where she was raised and educated.
Well known and highly regarded. she operated her husband's drug store for some years after his death in 1947. Her main interests centered in her home and family. particularly her grandchildren. She had been a volunteer worker for the Women's auxillary of the Brockville General Hospital.
She is survived by two sons, Wayne Cameron of Brockville, and Gary Cameron of Lethbridge, Alberta, and five grandchildren as well as a sister, Mrs. William Hogan (Leone) of Brockville, and several nieces and nephews.
Her remains are resting at the Johnston Funeral Home, 68 King Street East, with funeral services to be held Thursday afternoon in the First Presbyterian Church at two o'clock, Rev. Leslie R. Renault officiating. nterment will be made in Oakland Cemetery."

HUGH CAMERON LOCAL DRUGGIST PASSES TUESDAY:
"Conducted Own Business for past 14 years.
Active Fraternally......Survived by Wife, two Sons, Parents, Two Sisters and Brother.....

" The death occured of Hugh L. Cameron, highly respected and widely known local businessman, on Tuesday evening at his residence, 83 James Street east, after an illness that became serious in November of last year.
Mr. Cameron was born at Fallbrook, Ontario on Janurary 1, 1900, aged 47 years, a son of James L. Cameron and his wife, the former Margaret Wrathall, of Fallbrook. He was educated at Fallbrook Public School, Perth Collegate Institute and the Ontario College of Pharmacy graduating from the latter in 1923.
A most popular resident, Mr. Cameron's death is regretted by a wide circle of friends in Brockville and district. A well known druggest he established his own business at 118 King Street West, on November 1932. Previous to that he had been connected with the former Harold W. Carswell drug store here for nine years.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian church. He was prominent fraternally and was a member of Sussex Street Lawrence Chapter No. 59 of Gondemar Preceptory, and also of Karnak Shrine Temple, Montreal. He was also a popular and active member of the Kiwanis Club and a member of the Getineau Fish and Game Club of Gracefield, Quebec.
He is survived by his wife the former Vera E. Walsh daughter of Fred H. Walsh and the late Mrs. walsh of Brockville, and two sons, Gary and Wayne, at home. He is also survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. James L. Cameron, two sisters the Misses Mabel and Morna Cameron and one brother Walter Cameron all of Fallbrook, as well as many relatives here and in the district.
The remains are resting at the family residence, 83 James Street East. The funeral service will be held on Friday afternoon at the First Presbyterian Church at three o'clock. Interment will be made in Oakland Cemetery.
The late Mr. cameron was an enthusiastic horseman and owned two fine horses that were farmiliar on the back roads of the district.
he had enjoyed apparent good healthuntill last fall when he was taken ill."
